Sésijási Sustainability Story

Sésijási Sustainability Story

Sésijási Textiles Artesanales.  Woman-owned. Artesian made.  Purépecha Indigenous Supporting. Fair Trade. Organically Sourced.

Sésijási Textiles Artesanales are made on historic telars, the traditional looms of the Pátzcauro region, which were saved and passed down lineage in order to weave the story of these textiles together for you.  The company’s name combines two Purépecha indigenous tribal language words: sési and jási. Together they hold the meaning “authentically beautiful.”  Sésijási founder, Dary Astrid Cortes Ramirez, wanted to live her life by setting the example of authenticity, so she created her business as an eco-friendly label that actively revives her cultural heritage and offers fashion lovers and home designers pathways to living more sustainably.

Sésijási allows you to spend your money thoughtfully, and in authenticity with your values, without sacrificing your individuality or your style. The styles and cuts are slick and uber cool. They are well thought out: simple enough to be worn day and night, and versatile enough for the possibility of endless restyling.  Sésijási is about buying less, wearing more and sticking to creative basics: envision yourself in colorful prints, cotton dresses, soft wraps and throws, unique draperies and trims. Sésijási lets you make your outfit and home uniquely yours.
