PBEcoDistrict: Stronger Together
COVID-19 Resources and Resiliency
Over the past few weeks, we know that many of you have experienced a severe disruption to your former routine. Our assumptions about how systems work and the connection within them are now being tested in new and unpredictable ways. As each of us wrestles with how best to respond, know that beautifulPB is here to connect you with local resources, to help you get through this together while building resiliency within our community.
Although the uncertainty and vulnerability communities face is a serious threat, we are inspired by each of you who is trying to sustain your own operations and families, while serving others.
No matter your role, the investments that you make in people and their connections, weave the fabric of resilience. beautifulPB is more committed than ever to support your efforts to meet needs, while shaping an equitable, vibrant future.
About the PBEcoDistrict:
The PBEcoDistrict committed to the Imperatives Equity, Resilience and Climate Protection. These are indispensable cornerstones of neighborhood sustainability, and PB has made a firm pledge to them, as a community.
RESILIENCE: A commitment to creating a neighborhood that will work to withstand environmental, social and economic stresses and shocks.
With the COVID-19 crisis, beautifulPB will be completing the EcoDistrict Imperative Resilience for final certification with a grant recently received. Additionally, we have applied for a COVID-19 Community Grant and if awarded, will provide resources to support neighborhood sustainability.
IMPERATIVES COMMITMENT
The EcoDistrict certification process begins with a district’s commitment to the Imperatives that underpin the Protocol: Equity, Resilience, and Climate Protection. These are indispensable cornerstones of neighborhood sustainability, and making a firm pledge to them at the outset of the process ensures their integration in the Formation, Roadmap, and Performance phases.
EQUITY. This obligation is a commitment that describes how a district will embrace procedural, distributional, structural, and cross-generational equity in district activities.
RESILIENCE. This obligation is a commitment that describes how a district will work to withstand environmental, social, and economic stresses and shocks.
CLIMATE PROTECTION. This obligation is a commitment that describes how a community creates a pathway to carbon neutrality.
